Navigate your own path
Helping people manage
Part of adulting is juggling various responsibilities. Depending on your schedule, support systems, economic resources, and coping habits, you may at times feel overwhelmed or alone. You may not always be able to make sense of your experiences on your own. There is power in being able to talk things through, especially with the help of a professional.
Through intentional dialogue, Navigate can help you to identify the strengths, tools, and insights you possess that will help you to navigate day-to-day challenges with confidence.
Navigate is a tele-service available to adults seeking emotional, educational, or practical support. Working with a wellness coach, you can identify one or more short-term goals, develop steps toward achieving your goals, and focus on the aspects of your life and growth that are most important to you.

Sessions are available on Mondays, with limited options for Tuesdays and Wednesdays currently. Length of appointment times varies according to client needs. Sessions are available on a single basis, as well as weekly, biweekly, or monthly, according to the goals client and coach establish. Please note that times below are based on Eastern U.S. time zone (GMT-4).
First appointment begins at 10:00 AM
Last appointment begins at 4:00 PM
Payment for appointments must be received by 4 hours prior to the scheduled session time. Appointments that have not been paid for will result in automatic cancelation. Clients who cancel an appointment that has already been paid for can apply their payment to a rescheduled appointment, or request a refund.
Active listening & emotional support
The pandemic has affected all of us, and it's been an extra difficult time for many people, full of changes and challenges. Navigate can help people who may not have access to a large network of care or support.
As Navigate is still in its infancy, each new customer is eligible for a FREE Intro Consultation, up to 60 minutes. This provides an opportunity for people to see if my service is right for them at no charge.
All you need for a Navigate appointment is a good internet connection or cell phone signal. Video is optional for online appointments. Navigate uses Doxy.me, which is a HIPAA-compliant web service that enables video/audio sessions. Phone and text communication is through Google Voice.
SERVING THE LGBTQIA COMMUNITY
If you identify as a person in the LGBTQIA community, then you are eligible for free service depending on availability of appointments. Please contact Navigate to inquire about free support for adults in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Scope of service still applies.
No free services are available at this time, but feel free to set up a single-use session if you would like to reserve a spot for the future!
While Navigate is a trauma-informed service, it is not meant to replace traditional therapy, and may not be the best fit for your needs. During your Intro Consultation, we can figure out if Navigate is the right fit for your needs. Recommendations will be provided when Navigate is not an appropriate support option, and a wellness coach can sometimes provide bridging support until you're able to get the help you need.
Creating a safe virtual space
You may have concerns about your privacy when using a virtual service. Read below to learn what your coach and you can do to ensure your conversations remain confidential.
How does navigate protect my privacy?
In order to protect your privacy, these are the steps that I've taken.
Doxy.me is a HIPAA compliant web-service. That means it is a protected from hackers, and a secure way to communicate with your wellness coach.
I always keep a fan or heater running in my home office to create white noise.
I use headphones with a mic. This prevents anyone but me from hearing my clients in session.
The door to my home office is closed during sessions. That way no cats can interrupt! The door also serves as an additional sound barrier.
I do not keep any identifying information for my clients. Because I do not deal with insurance companies, I am not required to keep detailed documentation of sessions. The notes I take are designated with initials, and after 6 months, those notes are shredded and thrown away.
I don't live alone. It's hard to have a private conversation.
If you live with people, it can be challenging to find a place at home where you can speak privately. Here are some suggestions for ways to make your sessions feel more private.
If you have a housemate, spouse, or children (who are not toddlers), ask them to watch something or listen to music while you are in session. Bonus if they can wear headphones!
If you are able to do so comfortably, consider sitting in your car for your session.
Plan ahead for your housemate to run an errand or take a drive somewhere during your session time.
Turn on a device in the room where you sit for your session to create "white noise." This can be a fan, a space heater, or a classical music station on low volume.
In case of crisis
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency
Please contact your local crisis intervention agency.
Navigate does not offer crisis support.
Use Google to find the phone number or website of the crisis support agency in your area. There are also different national organizations that provide crisis support for mental health. These organizations can help you to get set up with a local provider as well if you need to pursue treatment.

Sometimes we just need a moment to vent, cry, or lean on someone before we dive back into our day. When you only have a short time and you would like some support, you can set up a fifteen-minute, brief dialogue through Navigate.
You can cover a fair amount within just a half hour with a professional active listener. If your schedule and budget only allow for this increment, Navigate will help you focus on what you need to and explore or process according to what you're dealing with.
Most therapists charge upwards of a hundred dollars for a standard session. Get the same quality of support and active listening with Navigate, without dealing with insurance or diagnosis requirements.
Sometimes you need a longer chunk of time to work your way through the thoughts and feelings you're experiencing. People who have a lot to process can attest to what a difference an hour can make speaking with a professional.
Prepay for 6 months of coaching. Split up your appointment times according to your needs, and use this option if you know that you're going to make use of the full term available to work with a Navigate coach.
Prepay for 2 months of support, and split up the time you reserve over the next 60 days.

How to set up a session
Step 1: Agree to the terms of service
Read carefully over the terms of service for Navigate, and then fill out and submit a contact form. You may select to have a phone session if you prefer, otherwise Navigate uses video calls for sessions. Remember, intro consultations are free! So you don't need to pay anything if it's your first time meeting with a coach.
Step 2: Check your messages and reply
Once Navigate receives your information, you'll receive a response at the email address you provided, or a text message if you prefer to be contacted that way. Your message will include available appointment times. Respond to indicate the date and time you would like to schedule your first appointment.
After your intro consultation, if you decide to continue working with a coach, you'll always need to return to this site to make a payment, unless you prepay for an extended package.
Step 3: Confirm your appointment
You'll receive a confirmation email for the date and time you selected for your appointment. Create a reminder for yourself whether you jot down a sticky note or save a reminder to your phone.
Step 4: Reminder email
You will receive a reminder email (or text message) from Navigate before your first session is scheduled. This message will contain the link for the Doxy website for video sessions. Reply to confirm or make adjustments to your appointment. On the day of your appointment, use the Doxy.me link to check into the virtual waiting room a few minutes early, so that you can test to be sure your connection and microphone are working properly.
Terms of service
In submitting a contact form, you attest that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms of service.
Services offered by Navigate are for wellness coaching purposes only. Though Navigate offers services to support mental and emotional well-being, these services are not a substitute for therapy or long-term therapeutic treatments offered through a licensed counseling or similar clinical agency. If Navigate provides a referral or recommendation for alternate services, it is the customer's responsibility to pursue such aid.
Navigate does not maintain records of identifying information. Customers can communicate with Navigate through a standard internet/phone connection outside of the Doxy.me website, which is HIPAA-compliant. Furthermore, Navigate does not provide crisis intervention, and clients experiencing anything that constitutes an emergency should contact the appropriate agency for crisis intervention.
Clients who contact Navigate are under no obligation to maintain a working relationship with a wellness coach, and understand that payments for appointments are due at least 4 hours prior to the scheduled session time. If an appointment is cancelled, payment will be refunded through the same payment method by which payment was submitted, or applied to the rescheduled appointment.
Clients who sign up for coaching support are eligible for up to six (6) months of support, with regular goal evaluation every two (2) months. After six months, clients may wish to purchase additional sessions for up to two (2) additional months. Clients who require additional support will receive referrals to the appropriate agency, according to each client's needs.
Lastly, Navigate reserves the right to cancel and reschedule appointments in case of emergencies or illness, and will provide at least 12 hours' notice (by email, Navigate's Facebook Messenger, or by text) whenever possible. Navigate's staff expects the same courtesy should clients need to reschedule or cancel as well.
